I see another one has skinned out and been given sanctuary,if past form is anything to go by he will prolly have the contents of the treasury with him, he may have been democraticly elected but for the last five years has reverted to form for that region,
Why do countries offer these twats a place of refuge,? perhaps if they had nowhere to run they might not be so keen, of course had Adolf still been alive I have no doubt he would still be living it up in in Argentina or some such place and we would be into our sixth decade of trying to extradite the buggah,
Money talks they say, it also forgives a lot of sins.
Europe has nothing to brag about the South of France used to be fled ex dictators paradise,
The Rumanians had the best idea, quick trial, blind fold and last woodbine,of course all the worlds leader squarked about that alsothey dont like the idea of the King being disposed of as well as the Pawns.

My dear Tony, I wish it was as simple as that. We recently had a very good example of how just kicking the butt of a Bad Guy is sometimes just the beginning of something worse. It's like a game of jackstraw: wherever you touch it goes crumbling. Yet people still believe there is one magic move or one magic man who's gonna solve the problem.
But let's not become boring. Obviously the insights of politics are not your piece of cake. May I suggest then a good reading (novel), but that has very good examples of how politics can be complicated? It's The Dream of Scipio by Iain Pears. Enjoy :)

If you mean Aristide, he is by no means the worst example. I suppose it is sometimes best just to offer these guys a way out. If a dictator believes his only choices are to fight, or suffer death at the hands of the mob, he is liable to act like a cornered animal and cause more death and suffering.

Well, which PPRuNer flew him out to Africa and why didn't he divert to New York so that the gentleman in question could argue his case directly before the UN or else head for The Hague and the ICC instead? Ahhh, unscheduled flight, guns on board, tall buildings etc...flying directly to West Africa would indeed appear to be quite reasonable then. :E

I didn't mean Aristide, but that was not the point anyway.

M. Aristide kidnapped?
Maybe, but not many dictators would want to put "Resigned" on their CV.
"R" word might work against their job prospects when seeking a similar position in the future.

That goes without having to say it usually...;)
Take the SOB right back and drop him on the top of that black SUV.
I can't believe few of our honourable :yuk: congressman/woman actually believes what they hear in their own heads as the truth.
