Germanwings has just confirmed plans to inaugurate a twice daily service from London LGW to CGN in May. Of course, the press release does not mention the new Easyjet service which is due to start in late September, but gives the availability of slots at LGW at short notice as the reason for the decision. No exact start date for the route yet. The press release, by the way, reads as if the LGW service will be in addition to the existing service to STN (which has been on sale for almost three months now).

Quite a few new routes to this area of Germany:

LTN - DTM by Easyjet
LCY - DUS by EAE
LGW - CGN by Easyjet and Germanwings

On the debit side: Air Berlin will axe their STN-DTM route

According to todays Germanwings newsletter the Stansted service will continue -

Cologne to London-Gatwick starting in May

Don't forget that in addition to our popular Stansted-Cologne route, from May we will be starting two daily flights to London-Gatwick, thereby giving you a choice of London arrival points.
