Emirates is to start a fourth daily flight from london heathrow to dubai, using an a330-2 departing terminal 3 at 0830, a spokesman has said that is why the birmingham flight is staying at once daily!!!

How are they getting the slots for these flights?

Also, what is the position re MAN third daily,BHX no2 and DUB, which was rumoured to be starting later this year? Is EK still committed to these plans or is the acft shortage messing up the plans?

Is there really demand for a 4th flight from LHR, considering that Emirates also operates from LGW x3/BHX/MAN x2/soon GLA??

I guess they must have already got the slots as it is possible to book this new flight, seems strange that they will now have lights to lgw and lhr both departing from dubai within 5 mins of each other, but they must see a demand.
Due to a shortage of aircraft at moment 3rd daily man will not be happening yet, and bhx will stay at one a day, although as said before it will be operated by a 777-2.
