Av8 At Newcastle This Summer?

I HAVE TODAY BEEN QUOTED FLIGHTS FROM NEWCASTLE TO TENERIFE SOUTH AND THE AGENT STATED THAT THE AIRLINE WOULD BE AV8 WITH A 757.APPARENTLY ITS A "W" WITH MANCHESTER IN JULY/AUGUST.HAS ANYONE GOT ANY COMMENTS ON AV8 REGARDING TIMEKEEPING ETC AND ARE THEY UK CREWS ON THE 757?

Hi, I am also travelling from NCL-TFS, in July. I was initially quoted AV8 in both directions but this has since changed. Excel are now doing most of AV8's destinations from Newcastle this summer, although AV8 will have a 'w' flight from Tenerife on Friday evenings. STA 1755, STD 1900.

AV8 operate a 757-200 (G-OAVB), which is an ex. Air 2000 machine. I dont know much as far as crews etc; try using the search facility to find threads on AV8.

Just out of interest what dates are you travelling?, did you say your return flight was via Manchester?

I think what he meant was that the flight would operate MAN-TFS-NCL-TFS-MAN.
Are Av8air still doing the S.A. flights from NCL this summer?

i think the first flight from newcastle is on the 02 may to durban.

I heard the durban flight wasnt getting many bookings and may not operate at all

I'd also heard that Excel were doing the AV8 flights. Not so sure about the Durban run though. I always found this a strange route for Newcastle.

I agree with Pembo330 about Durban......I could understand CapeTown which is becoming a very popular holiday destination....and Port Elizabeth...another odd choice.

What about the flights to AGP on sat, are they effected?

Only ask as they is time for a/c to do fl;ights before going off the S.Africa

EXCEL AIRWAYS WIL NOW OPERATE ALL AV8AIR'S FLIGHTS. WHO KNOWS IF THE SOUTH AFRICA FLIGHT WILL GO AHEAD, AS I HAVE HEARD BOOKINGS ARE NOT GOOD.

THERE WILL HOWEVER BE A FRIDAY BACK TO BACK FLIGHT FROM TENERIFE.
