I'm about 6' tall, with about 5' legs:} . It is impossible for me to exercise the yoke through it full range when i use a kneeboard. I was wondering if anyone knows of a decent universal yoke mounted kneeboard, if such a thing exists.

Not quite a yoke-mounted one... but I use an A5-sized kneeboard with a Velcro strap to attach it to my leg. I can't get full movement of the controls, in most aircraft, with the kneeboard in its usual position, but I can quite easilly twist it through 90 degrees, to the side of my leg, for take-off and landing, and I have no problems moving the controls like that. Hope that's at least some use to you.

There was a thread about this around Xmas time, but basically, it comes down to what suits you and the aircraft you fly. I take it that you're probably in a PA28 or similar (as it's them that gives me the greatest problems). In Tr***air, there's a yoke-mount clipboard (Ref 3403) available, but IMHO it's a tad pricey at £59.95 (would paste Web link, but the Transair site doesn't show the exact URL for the item - it's in the Kneeboards section). Have also looked in Fli**tSt*re and Ha**y Mend***ohn, but neither had anything appropriate.

I have a yoke clip for charts - would have thought you could use the metal bit from a normal kneeboard attached to that.

I don't use a yoke at the moment so I use a Jepp trifold kneeboard with the metal bit taken out so the whole lot fits snug to my leg. It has a clear plastic pocket and I've put a piece of white paper behind that and write on the plastic with a non-permanent pen. Because it is snug to my leg, I find I can get full movement of the stick.
