UPDATED INFORMATION ON B747 AND 757 EMPLOYMENT

January 24, 2004

With regard to your prospective employment with the Orient Thai Airlines, the Chief pilot will be qualified as a Transport Canada Designated Flight Examiner to give you your final check ride and issue you a type rating. All passes will be considered for employment. Those demonstrating superior performance will be hired first and the remainder queued in order of skill and performance. If you are still interested in pursuing employment with this company, the following items must be accomplished.

1. A Canadian medical exam must be taken and successfully passed. There are numerous medical clinics around the world that are certified to perform a Canadian medical. If you cannot find a clinic in your area, the exam can be done when you start ground school here is Vancouver, Canada.

The simulator training for the B747-200 will be in the United States at MSP. With the post 9-11 security measures implemented, you will be required to fill out the attached forms and return them back to me at either 604-2752110 or 604-2753108. (4 rings). If you have other type ratings on large aircraft above 12,500 lbs, your entry application will be directed onto the “fast track.” This method for clearance will take approximately 1 to 3 weeks. If you do not have the qualifications listed above, your application will take one to two months. This time is insignificant as your type rating ground school and Canadian licensing will be in Vancouver and will take the better portion of the time. (no clearance necessary to enter Canada) If you are an American citizen, YOU ARE STILL REQUIRED TO FILL OUT THE ATTACHED FORMS. If you do not get clearance to enter the United States to train, we will make alternate arrangements for training outside of the U.S. At this point, if you decide to terminate the course, whatever expense you incurred will be deducted from your payment and the balance returned promptly with interest. Reduced rate transportation is being negotiated to and from the U.S. based simulator facility. Outside North America the cost for return confirmed airfare to MSP is $650.00 U.S.D. In North America the cost is $250.00 U.S.D.
3. Your Type Rating will be put on a Canadian Pilots license. If you have under 1500 hours of total time and less than 250 hours PIC, you will be required to write off the Canadian Commercial License and the Multi Crew course.

4. If you exceed the hours listed above, you may write off the Canadian Airline Transport license. In addition, both licenses require that you to write off the Canadian instrument-rating exam. It is important to note that you ONLY REQUIRE THE IFR WRITTEN TO TAKE THE TYPE RATING FLIGHT TEST. You have one year to complete the remainder of the licenses. No Canadian pilot license or instrument test is required for the flight engineers license.

5. A Flight Engineer on the Boeing 747-200 requires a Department of Transport written exam and 100 hours of line time before the license is issued. A company certificate will be issued on successful completion of the Flight Engineers check ride. When you achieve 100 hours of line training with the company, you will be issued a Flight Engineers certificate. If you are taking the type rating, your rating will be put on your Canadian license after completing a successful check ride.

6. Those of you that are current and qualified on the B747-200 or the B757, do not require any license conversion. Your current license will be converted to the Thailand license.

For those applicants that do not already have large jet experience, it is recommended that you prepare for the flight Engineers license and the type- rating course. This rationale is safer, as you will not know until after your final ride, which position you, will be selected for.

The course cost for the Flight Engineers training is $5000 U.S.D and the Type Rating course is $9800.00 U.S.D.

The B757 course cost is $14,800 U.S.D. All of your training will be done in Vancouver, Canada for this aircraft and no entrance requirements are needed.

If you are type rated on either the B747-200 or the B757, but not current, a recurrent training and assessment will be required. (MSP & Vancouver , Canada respectively.) The cost is $3000.00 U.S.D.

A $3000.00 U.S.D. deposit is required to secure your place on the course and to receive the flight operations manuals, training manuals, full size mockup, the quick list, IFR written work book, the multi crew books or the ATPL books and home study questions. (Where applicable). This amount will be deducted from the course cost. Once you have received the training package, you are required to follow the study material to the letter and accomplish all of the assignments required. Successful completion of the home study is an integral part of the approved course and will count in assessing a pass on the ground school portion of the course.

P.S.

Please see attached DOJ paperwork to be completed by all pilots for training at PAIFA. In addition, please submit photocopies of your passports and pilot certificates. Pilots that don't have experience with aircraft 12,500 lbs. or greater must come personally to the US to be fingerprinted. Those pilots must come to the US as soon as possible, as it takes between 4-6 weeks to process their paperwork.
