TCAS Question

What are the four categories of air traffic which TCAS can detect within its range (I think we're getting at transponders here, but can't get four categories out of those!) and the category of aircraft TCAS cannot detect?

Alternatively, if anyone knows a good website to hit for this sort of info, that would be handy.
