On the morning of the 5th January a Delta B767 taxied for runway 27R at Hartsfield Atlanta. In front of it was a coastgaurd gulfstream with the callsign Homeland 1, behind it was a South African Airways B747-400 (with the call sign Springbok 212). As the B767 approached the hold, the Saa 747 crew reported what looked like a piece of rubber sticking out the side of the left main bogey of the 767. The gulfstream crew (with the chief of homeland sercurity on board) also confirmed this.

The Delta B767 subsequently taxied back to the apron area to have the landing gear checked out. Does anyone know what the outcome of the inspection on the 767 gear was ?
