Maybe they just didnt want to pay for a big set of steps.

Is this not a bit common in A320's?

What happened? I cant see the gear anywhere. Did the gear just retract???

I dont see any sign of major damage so I persume the tug was out of the way and the gear simply retracted.

Did anybody question where the guy on the headset is!!!!!

This is not the first incident of this kind in Portugal, last year the same happened with another Portuguese Airline, when during the pushback the fokker's nose wheel colapsed

I'm not familiar with the A320, but why would this be common on this aircraft type? Is that because of technical failure, incorrect push-back procedures or something else?
I don't mean to blame anyone, but was just wondering how this can happen.
