Lara Croft won't use Iraqi loos

A CELEBRITY model who once portrayed the swashbuckling Lara Croft has been airlifted out of Iraq because she doesn't like the toilets used by British forces, news reports said yesterday.
Nell McAndrew, 30, was given a helicopter ride on Monday to Kuwait and a luxury hotel, from where she shuttled back into Iraq for morale-boosting pre-Christmas visits to British troops.
"There was some difficulty over the toilets and showers," Squadron Leader Alison Simmonds, a spokeswoman at the British military base in Basra, southern Iraq, told Britain's domestic Press Association news agency.
"A decision was made that she would not be staying and go to Kuwait and stay in a hotel," said Simmonds. "We always rise to a challenge. We do as we are asked to do, if we can accommodate her."
McAndrew, from Leeds in the north of England, is one of several models and actresses who have portrayed the computer game character Lara Croft in real life.
She has also appeared in Playboy magazine, and last year starred in a reality TV show called I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! in which a group of celebrities try to live rough in an Australian jungle.
