Although obviously not aviation related, when I was working in aviation in NY a few years ago (prior 911), we lived near the WTC and used both the subway and the PATH trains daily.

I saw on the news the other week that trains have returned to the WTC site, however it looked like it was the PATH train from NJ?

Has the E line subway returned as well? Or does it now terminate at Canal Street?

It was the PATH train from New Jersey that has returned. The E and the other stations have not reopened. You can look at the MTA website for more info: http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/nyct/subway/
