4. When you select 360 heading on the mode control panel and you are at 270 the FD bar is displaced as shown….what does this bar on the ADI indicate?

A) The angle of bank to be applied to achieve the selected heading at an optimum angle. ( don’t remember if it was angle or rate)*
B) A standard 30 degree bank to fly to reach the selected heading
C) A bank angle of 30 degrees or more to fly to when bar is centralised
D)

5. diagram on an ADI … the FD vertical bar is to the left with horiz. Bar below aircraft symbol.
What are the bars commanding you to do?
A) fly left and down
B) etc etc

6. when will you know you have met the required attitude?

A) when the aircraft symbol is aligned with the FD horizontal bar *
B) when the aircraft symbol is aligned with the display horizon

7. When an aircaft is losing height after take off what will the GPWS aural messages contain?

A) Repetitive ‘ DON’T SINK, DON’T SINK’ *
B) ‘DON’T SINK, DON’T SINK’ and if the height loss exceeds a predetermined level a second ‘ WHOOP WHOOP, PULL UP’ command
C) ‘ SINK RATE, SINK RATE’
D) ‘ OOPS OOPS’

( check this one as someone would have me believe answer B was correct)

8. The Radio Altimeter is calculated from?

A) Height of the lowest wheel to the ground*
B) Height of aircraft nose using radio reflection off the ground
C) Pressure alititude

9. What is parallax error?

A) A Reading error*
B) An acceleration error

D) No such thing, it’s a type of medicine

10. At what latitude will you get an GDI drift rate due to the rotation of the earth of 15.04 degrees per hour?

A) 0
B) 45
C) 90*
D) 180

11. you are at 5S and are flying to 5N, what is the drift rate due to earth rotation ( I think it may have said that the DGI was compensated for earth rotation)

A) +5.5
B) 0*
C) –5.5
D) 15.04

12. A DG ( didn’t say DGI)

A) is incapable of aligning with magnetic north
B) is capable of aligning with Mag north

All credit to you for remembering that many. I took the October sitting and it seems the same sort of questions came up. I would say about 80% of your list was in my exam the month before. The other 20% came from a few more flight director questions. In fact i would say that if you know your feedback , your sod suc etc and flight sim 2002 level, flight director , you can breeze this exam.
That may seem a strange thing to say but i got 89% in this exam and i am sure i got the flight director questions right. I knew them from using the Airbus pro on FS2002.

God i need to get out more!

good luck with the results.

Thanks for that. Good luck and let us know what happens with the results.

Would any of the experts like to hazard their guess at some of the answers?
