Hi Folks,

can anyone tell me if there is a flying club / school in Barcelona's international airport or if there is a GA airfield in that area.

I hope to be in Barcelona some time in December.

Mixturerich.

LEBL Barcelona is permanently IFR, so no clubs and very little GA.

The GA airfield of choice is LELL Sabadell, which is very nice, very helpful and about 30 mins by taxi from the centre of town (or there is a good train service). +34-937-282100 (Fax +34-937-282105)

Agree re Sabadell recommendation. The AFISO there was also extremely helpful and tolerant on the day we arrived (just after closing time!).

I second (third!?) the recommendation for Sabadell - we found them helpful when we arrived and parked for a couple of nights. Good facilities. More to the point though, I think Sabadell may be the ONLY place close to Barcelona where VFR GA can fly.

Thanks Folks,

I will look up the web and see what the Aeroclubs are like in Sabadell.

Spain seems to be reasonably priced - flew out of Malaga in June and got a pretty reasonably hourly rate.

Mucho gratius,
