I've just been asked by a PPL(H) student who's struggling with the ground exams if I'd teach him groundschool on a one to one basis. What are the going rates for something like this ?

Whirly I charge between £15-20 per hr depending on who and what I'm teaching. I help a couple of students with their ATPL stuff, and I usually do this cheaper because they are all skint and I don't mind giving something back after the help I recieved when I did mine. ( £20 a session, but these often last 4-5 hrs and I still feel guilty about that sometimes!)

p.s It's all cash in hand!! p.p.s sshh Don't tell the tax man!!!

SAS,

Many thanks. Around £20 was somewhere in the back of my mind what I thought I'd heard, but I wanted to check.

I charge £15 per hour for PPL work, though I have been told I'm cheap ( :( ). Typically of aviation instruction the work is worth more but the market will rarely bear the price, so don't feel bad charging £20 or more if you can.
