Have you checked the serviceability of your flight deck smoke goggles recently?
I have, and goggles manufactured by Intertechnique called EROS (part no MXP 210-00) have elastic securing straps that are too long for the average head. The straps also have a habit of perishing after a very short period in service. Not much use in smoke when they end up round your neck.

Makes you wonder who approved them.

I check them every time I get into a plane that Ive never flown on before, and periodically on the ones I have.
I'm perhaps not all that surprised to find that after a few months I never have to adjust the straps on any of them ... ;)

Flight deck O2 masks are due a regular function check, with a frequency of up to 3 years betweeen checks. This I believe should be done with the goggles, as I O2 from the mask is passed into the gggles to ensure freedom from smoke.
