Attention Twotter lovers, I'm looking for Twin Otter 200 information; specifically:

1. direct operating costs excluding crew costs
2. fuel burns and TAS for normal cruise (560lb/160 KTAS ??)
3. prop and hot section TBOs and usual US $ costs.
4. any unscheduled maintenance items that occur (too) regularly.

Ballpark figures are ok. Thanks in advance.

PT6A-20
cruise is 160 kts burning 600 lbs/hr.

oh, sorry. I don't think No. 4 really applies, at least on a common basis. Very reliable a/c.

Why don't you contact Ken Borek Air in Calgary, they have so many they just gave one to a museum.

PT6 is a super engine...ultra reliable and not nearly as noisey as the Garrets....I experienced only one failure in 5000 + hours and that was a broken oil return line which dumped all the oil...
TBO and hot section costs can be limited severely by discouraging the crew from red-lining the ITT...makes a huge difference..
Good Luck...

Had an engine failure, but memoery loses the details and sequence. Seems to me that the CSU (constant speed unit) failed, then immediately the overspeed gov failed to to the force and then for same reason the fuel topping gov failed. So actually a prop problem rather than the engine. Cockpit filled with smoke so shut off the bleed air switches.
