This one sure sounds like it, but it makes a good read anyway.

Microsoft Is Using Linux To Protect Its Own Web Site

Add Technology - TechWeb to My Yahoo!

Microsoft has made a big deal out of asserting that Linux ( news -web sites ) is not fit for the enterprise ( news -web sites ). But Microsoft itself is using Linux to help protect its servers against denial-of-service ( news -web sites ) attacks.

Oh, Gods, let this be true!!!!

Having spent most of last week managing the installation of patches and AV updates on upwards of 900 new-build PCs, I would really love to take Bill Gates to one side and discuss the security holes in Win2K Pro with him.

With the aid of a cricket bat.

Don't think it's quite true - look at the NetCraft website (http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/graph/?host=www.microsoft.com), Microsoft-IIS 6.0 on Linux ?!?! I think not. I think that NetCraft are just picking up the routing through akamai, which runs Linux.

More irritating is that the original link keeps trying to put a spyware bot on my computer - the firewall keeps blocking it :ok:
