bmi at Leeds

Apparantly the airline is looking at increasing frequency on the LBA-LHR service. Provisional timings suggest the use of a LHR based machine to fly an early morning northbound, with the aircraft then "doing something else during the day", before returning down south at 21:00 ish.

Good news if true, after a period of reducing frequency and capacity on the service, but I wonder what the "something else" is that they intend to do with the aircraft during the day.

Obviously not the CPH, thats a new Emb145 route so maybe a lunchtime DUB given no BA on the route anymore. Trouble is they'd be in competition with Ryanair who recently went to 4 times daily Mon and Fri because on MAN charges!

Galileo is showing the following operational timetable for a random weekday in May, which would appear to suggest the extra rotation is an Embraer.

Yes, we all know that 100 signifies an F100!

Sorry "mate," have you not seen the "ER4" listed beside the additional flight in black and white??

The additional rotation also shows when doing an availability search on Amadeus...shame that the extra LBALHR is not later than 1955...but at least there's a very early LHRLBA now!!

BMI are probably trying to soak up some of the LBA-LGW traffic after BACX ceases this route at the end of March.
