Who saw the Connie?

Who was lucky enough to see the Connie yesterday?
I gather it did a flyby at GLA and MAN.......maybe even EMA en route to Duxford.

What's it doing here? Will it become a permanent display at Duxford?

The Connie is now sitting at Manston and will be there until sometime on Saturday morning. It will then fly to Lelystadt in the Netherlands.

I believe it will then be based in the Netherlands and will appear at displays etc.

Whilst on the subject of vintage airliners, two DC-4's are on their way to North Weald to take part in a film. They are currently in Iceland as one of the aircraft has engine problems.

Who saw the Connie?

I did, he carried out a high speed fly past along runway 13 at PIK not GLA at approx 150-200 feet and then departed south to Duxford presumebly with flypasts at other significant airfields on the way!!!!Thanks must go to the contollers at Scottish who asked him if he would mind doing an approach at PIK and to the pilot who was only to happy to oblige. Dont know what its doing over here but did see what looked like a dutch and an american flag on the nose as it roared past so maybe a clue there.

Findo - You have made me very unhappy - now I know what I missed!

Think the last one I saw airborne was the old Indian A.F. one that used to go into Northolt.
I remember watching smoke pour out of one particular one at 'KK
back in the late 60's, but can't think whose it was........someone out there will remember - save me getting the old reggie spotting books out of the loft!

Are you at Oceanic Findo

So will we see it back in the U.K. next summer?
