Arrow New UK-based low-cost airline for Preussag

Preussag, the German holiday company that owns Thomson Holidays, Britannia Airways and Lunn Poly is to set up its own low-cost airline in Britain next year.

It is to follow suit on MyTravel's plans to set up a low-cost airline in the UK which could affect Britannia's holiday flights.

Ok. so where could they go to?

East Midlands - Britannia's 4th largest hub after Manchester,
Gatwick and Birmingham. They could compete
with Go and bmibaby.

Manchester or Gatwick - Britannia's largest hubs and would
compete against MyTravel Airways, Air
2000 and jmc.

Glasgow or Edinburgh - new niche for low-cost operations

Teesside or Newcastle - new niche like Scotland.

Bristol or Cardiff - possibly but perhaps one low-cost airline at
each airport is sufficient.
