Thomas Cook Belgium & Brussels Airlines to Merge, 40 Job Losses

Reports are emerging that Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium will be merged into Brussels Airlines with the loss of 40 ground staff

Brussels Airlines was taken over earlier this year by Lufthansa who had majority shares in the airline and will be integrated into Eurowings later

Two aircraft and 160 pilots & cabin crew from Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium will be taken into Brussels Airlines and Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium will cease operations in November 2017

Further information will be released later by the airlines

With SN Brussels being turned into Eurowings which is much more leisure oriented than SN Brussels, this probably makes sense. Will be interesting to see if that means the return of the Belgian flag carrier to the regions as TC Belgium also flew from places like Ostend and Liege.

Not sure if that is entirely correct. Both operate a mixed market.
