Grrr

If you believe Michael O'Leary, by the time the third runway is opened, easyJet and Ryanair will be the short haul feeder for BA!

Copenhagen

From previous posts, it looks like Ryanair & easyJet are going to slug it out for a while to CPH. It's unthinkabe that the rohte can sustain 6 flights a day in the long term so something will have to give eventually but for now at least passengers have a good range of options.

No news yet but an interesting story about La Compagnie and the London airports that they could use for their New York service.

London calling for all-business La Compagnie

La Compagnie

I thought someone on this thread had already posted that LTN is going to be used for the service? I just found this online which suggests LTN will be used

http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.c...march-29-2015/

If they plan to launch in March they should surely be selling seats by about now?

My link is quite old now but this is the first time I have seen LTN mentioned by La Compagnie in wallp's link . Standby for the detractors who are lurking here.

It was mentioned a while ago on this very thread.

Not a big surprise considering the bods behind La Compagnie were involved with Silverjet. If it is true, as someone said on the previous posting, a coup for Luton as one imagines MAG would have liked something at stansted.

Will be interesting to see where they fly from. Both airports have the same terminal issues when it comes to premium pax

The first and second worst airports in the Which survey. Things would be put in place for a better experience I would have hoped and although the departure time would be during a less busy time of day the morning arrival could well clash with the Wizz mad hour.

La Compagnie

I'm surprised that if they plan to start flights at the end of next month why flights aren't already on sale, perhaps the March start date is not accurate?

Presumably if passengers use the main terminal, they will have access to dedicated facilities and so avoid having to mix with other passengers? Or maybe flights won't actually use the main terminal but utilise the executive facilities?

Quote 'a botique airline from a botique airport'. Ah hahahaha. That's really tickled me. I could think of many a word to describe Luton airport, 'botique' is NOT one of them.

There you go, what did I say a few posts ago.

Standby for the detractors who are lurking here.
I bet there are a few people at MAG who are really hacked off about this news. There they were going on about attracting long haul as a priority, Luton says nothing and gets the business. I love the airlines comment about not liking London Ryanair (Stansted)airport.

So why Luton, and what makes him sure La Compagnie will work?

“We didn’t like Stansted as it’s too low-cost for us, and at Heathrow it was difficult to get what we wanted. At London City our aircraft was too large to operate from there. So we had the choice of Gatwick or Luton. Luton is the largest private jet airbase in the UK so we believe our passengers will enjoy flying from there

In fairness, I would hardly describe Luton as a boutique airport.

Just wait until those 'executive' passengers have to encounter the security monkeys at Luton, possible the most officious I've seen in all my travels!

Actually I have to agree and that it is all PR spin. Now Luton has to deliver the experience.

Never had any trouble with security at Luton or for that matter Stansted, but Gatwick - never again unless it is absolutely necessary!

Trouble it varies from day to day, depending who's on duty.

I went out through Gatwick last Monday and they were very friendly and we were even having a joke with them.

To be honest Ive experienced both miserable ones and friendly going through Luton.

The press article refers to the service as "six times daily".

The CEO was probably thinking about his love life......
