Aluminium shuffler - where are you getting the extra rotation to DUB from? I've just had a quick look at the Ryanair website for dates in June & July next year & it still shows only 3 - FR331/2, FR338/7 & FR341/2.

From my roster! I don't know about next year, but for the past decade there have generally been four rotations per day (used to be five with the 200).

Grrr

Rumours circulating from the villages to the west of Luton relating to sightings of men with range finders, fields being closed off and dozens of police and anti terror squad combing the area. Not being a member of the Parish Council's Facebook page, I can only state 'what I have been told'.

Edit. Search Twitter for Richard Stay. Seems more than a rumour!

Ryanair to Dublin

Aluminium shuffler, that's very strange then because there's only 3 flights per day currently on sale and that's been the same all summer, is the same for this coming winter & appears the same for next summer. Departures are currently at 06.35, 14.50 & 20.25. The elusive FR 334/333 simply doesn't exist as a flight that's bookable on the Ryanair website currently

Seems that Twinjet which has been based at Luton for over 30 years has gone bust. They operated out of their own office block tucked away behind the Airport Sports and Social club in Proctor Way. Their Airbus A319 was a frequent visitor to Luton

How many of that 1177295 are wizz and easyjet. Look at the arrives and all I see is W6 and EZY with the odd ZB,TOM,FR and maybe even OB but there must together have over 75% of the monthly amount.

According to Airport Co-ordination Ltd's summer 2014 traffic projection report for Luton the available seats were: Easyjet 42.85%, Wizz 27.1%, Ryanair 12.34%, Monarch 7.8%, Thomson 3.99% with several others making up the rest.

UK's number 5 airport

I have been so interested in that of all those who regularly comment in this forum regarding Luton Airport very few have responded to the fact that the airport has to date achieved it's highest recorded figure ever- in relation to passenger levels.

Whilst MAG claim to have Londons's 'fasting growing airport in August' the fact remains every other London Airport has achieved record figures where as STN remains approximately 4 million plus passengers short of it's best year ever achieved!

Whilst figures can be manipulated facts can not!

I sincerely hope that Thomson Airways stops its decline at its head office town airport and throughout the rest of the UK and that Monarch stimulates further growth which it rightly deserves.

Easyjet has claimed it will grow by a fifth in 2015 so lets hope that pledge comes into fruition.

From my point of view Luton could become the 'LaGaurdia' serving the London area?

LaGaurdia, if you moved it 30 miles nearer to the city of london! but TOM needs to get it's act together, MON has other issues to worry about.

If that's true then why are you manipulating the figures then?

As has been said before STN saw significant decline mainly due to the break up of the BAA monopoly. It will take some years for it to fully recover so it's not really a fair comparison.

As STN was/is faster growing means the gap between LTN and STN is widening. That is fact!

Or you could look at it as the gap between STN and LGW is narrowing. That is also fact!

I think's it's great that all the London airports are growing strongly (regardless of what previous peaks and record may have been) alongside each other and in their own right.

I also don't really see what the issue is regarding TOM at LTN to be quite frank. 3 aircraft, 1 of which is a 757 is a decent sized base and there's been no noticeable reduction in flights if any. Seems to be based on nothing other than wishful thinking from a couple of LTN fanboys.

The truth is Stansted will always be a better airport than Luton from an infrastructure point of view . It was rebuilt on the opposite side of the runway from the old terminal because it had the land to do so and has plenty of room for further expansion.

On the other hand Luton has to keep upgrading its existing footprint with infill. Squeezing a quart into a pint pot comes to mind with the odd extra stand being created here and there and the terminal getting the same treatment.

Both airports have been remarkably successful in recent years but sometimes I think people here view airports like a football league table and position is everything while the passenger experience can be ignored.

Luton is above Birmingham but after visiting Birmingham I was surprised how good that airport was from a passengers perspective. Lets all remember that Luton came bottom in the recent Which passenger survey result. Stansted can't gloat as they came second from bottom out of 35 UK airports.

I can't see Luton moving from bottom in the next 2 years with the terminal about to receive an influx of builders but after that the big goal is to improve the customer experience.

Totally agree LTNman. Passenger experience has been neglected at most airports in favour of numbers.

I see on the Monarch thread that they're dropping Antalya, Bodrum & Corfu which presumably means a smaller based fleet next summer even with increased capacity to Rome?

Perhaps an opportunity for easyJet or even Atlasjet to pick up some of these routes?

Atlasjet have already said there would start Antalya but none of there summer 15 flights have been released yet so who knows. Bodrum could be served by another Turkish carrier.

Grrr

Dropping 3 unprofitable routes are the least of the worries for based Monarch staff.

A Luton without Monarch is unthinkable!

Good luck to all at Spotty M!
