BA are flying LHR-TLL twice weekly on Tue and Sat from March.

Surprising choice and frequency! Tallinn Airport website (in Estonian: Tallinn-Londoni liinile lisandub uue vedajana British Airways - Tallinna Lennujaam ) hopes it might be useful for business travellers, which is a bit hopeful (or cute). Up against Ryanair (4xweekly) and EasyJet (2xWeekly).

Presumably they're looking for feeder traffic. They won't expect much shorthaul business.

No all routes will operate from LHR.

BDS, MPL, MJV, NTE and ZTE will operate from T5. PUY will operate from T3

Aircraft land and take off in an orderly fashion carrying passengers at a commercial rate thereby driving shareholder benefit. And shopping.

Lots of shopping.

I found numerous returns for £378 in July, very tempted by that. For comparison Norwegian want £664 hand baggage only on the same dates.

Well to be honest none of these new destinations apart from Tallinn is aimed at the business market because they are leisure routes at low frequencies. Murcia gives British Airways more Spanish coverage and it is a popular tourist area for the British. British Airways operate Heathrow-Alicante year round thrice weekly but that was terminated in 2013 and I would hope it would come back. They obviously wanted to expand their network and leave Alicante to Gatwick & most recently London City.

I'm already looking at booking two dates in April & July next year for Heathrow-Murcia flights and they are proving quite cheap! £660 for a family of four in peak season!

Actually there is a business market for Murcia. The majority of fresh produce we buy in supermarkets comes from the Murcia region so buyers from all major importers are regular visitors. Also there is a good 'high end' leisure market with La Manga being next door.

Some news starting to come from the IAG Capital Markets Day...

International Airlines Group PLC shares lower after profit downgrade

From other sources there will be a push to fit extra seats to many of the fleets - a number of 777s will be fitted with 10 abreast in Traveller and A320 seats increased to 180.

The number of A319 machines will be reduced but overall fleet size remains around 300 so these would need replacing?

PAXboy - if you don't like it, pay for one of the premium classes when you fly... given the experience of other airlines it seems passengers in the back of the bus are quite happy with the race to the bottom

Nothing original about that. In the 1990s BA operated a separate fleet of 3 (?) 777s at LGW with 10 abreast seating and separate cabin crew on leisure routes. I don't believe it was a stunning success.
