CENSORSHIP AGAIN WHEN BA THE TOPIC!

Yesterday a posting appeared on R&N re a BA triple diverting into Shannon with smoke in the flight deck.

Today it has disappeared.

All discussion re the engine cowlings has been "locked out" and the suspected NLG downlock pin incident has similarly vanished.

Is this censorship or not?

At least you could try to be more subtle with the downplaying, and why so sensitive about the "World's Favourite"?

I was waiting in Vancouver on monday 18th nov for BA85 and was told by the staff that the flight was 2 hours late because of an aircraft change at LHR.
If this was true, I wonder which 747 went tec?
We went back on BNLM which I believe is being WFU this month. She seemed in good order, it is a shame to scrap her.

No, but I might if it was stripped to bare metal every few years and had all new parts fitted!

I don't think you would, what about the engine, would the latest fuel efficient engines fit into a 23yo car regardless of new paint and parts!

Yes you are right my car 23 years ago was a 2.3 V6 Sierra. I liked it though!

What I really wanted to know why and if the BA flight to Vancouver on 18/11/13 was swapped for another 747?

This was my first long haul with BA and I found their service very good. The passenger next to me was sick about 5 times and I had to keep getting up for him. The Steward put him into Club class, so now we know how to do it!

Any idea why BA 150 landed at Stansted this afternoon instead of Heathrow?

According to Jethros and thebasource 10 x A320 will be leased to be based at LGW as 734 replacements.

No delivery dates announced however jethros carries the note:

The 10 leased A320's are expected to
be imminent

I caution that report as the its the same reference point the BA Source references the enthusiast site Jethro !

That said it is known that the existing 737-400 models are to leave by end of W2014/15 season and that they are to be replaced with 32x frames on a one for one basis.

We also know that BA already has ten A320s on order for delivery in 2014 anyhow.

Until is see anything official I believe these are the same frames with just a rolling order of 6 extra in Q1 of 2015.

I am sceptical that just a few days after the release of a five year plan a further big and unacknowledged extra investment programme could be sanctioned.

Heathrow to Toronto

Myself and another are planning on taking a reward flight next summer to Toronto in F class. As far as I can make out, the flights in question (BA00096 & 97) are B747s with the old cabin fit-out. Is anyone able to confirm this? Would have been nice to try out the new product, but I don't imagine we'll find the older one a disappointment.
