BM say they've loaded S15 schedules, but MXP isn't bookable in MAR, APR of 15, and there's no BRS-MXP flights on a couple of sample dates from end MAR15 onwards.

Maybe they'll re-add it later in the year, but at the moment I can't find any flights.

BRS-FRA

It looks like BRS-FRA is going 3x daily on 12345 and 1x on 67. That might explain the disappearance of the midday BRS-MXP rotation.

The introduction of a BRS-FRA and BRS-MUC on Saturday morning is a really good idea. Munich for the weekends.

bmi regional adds 60,000 extra seats for summer 2015

Extra rotations on both EMA and NCL to BRU next summer as well as BRS-FRA mentioned by Bristol_Traveller and BRS-ABZ.

MXP has disappeared off the latest version of the route-map, so I think we can consider that one an ex-route, deceased, ceased to be.

Which is a pain, because I wanted to fly it on 15MAR-18MAR. Guess I'll be going via FRA/MUC now.

On another aviation website a poster whose identity I know and whose statements on BRS matters cannot be dismissed lightly posted on Friday that there will be 'more bmir for s 15' (at BRS that is and the expanded summer 15 FRA, ABZ and MUC routes programme had already been discussed so that wasn't the reference).

Nothing was specifically mentioned about MXP though.

I notice BM1381 is taking an odd routing this evening, looks to be going MAN-NWI-ABZ, with BM1317 cancelled again. Anyone know why there have been so many BMR cancellations as of late - Low loads? Shortage of aircraft? Ongoing tech issues?

BM seems to be running two models - a feeder into network/long-haul airlines, and tactical high-yield point-to-point traffic (e.g. BRS/NWI-ABZ, GOT etc.). Which would the use to expand at BRS?

Would they add new routes to feed into LH/SN/LX networks (via BRU, ZRH?). Or with SK via CPH?

Or are there other point-to-point routes (like ABZ or HAM) that have a specific target high-yielding traveller? Would TLS go public? Other European renewable energy centres? BRS-NWI (again)?

It'll be great if they're increasing their base at BRS, and if they're getting the right support from the airport to do that.

NOP

I wonder if they're running short of crew? I had a very brief chat with one of the crew a couple of weeks ago, who was (unusually) deadheading a flight. Although NWI-ABZ might be a load issue too...

Taking into account next summer's additional rotations from BRS to FRA, MUC and ABZ, minus MXP if it has gone for good, there should be an extra seven rotations per week compared with summer 13.

It's hard to identify potential point to point high yielding routes from BRS in that TLS is operated daily by easyJet and NWI failed quite dismally on load factors (and presumably yield as it didn't last more than a season from memory) several years ago when Air Southwest gave it a go.

MXP might have been thought to be a prime candidate but despite load factors mostly as good as the other bmi regional routes out of BRS one assumes the airline wasn't satisfied with the return which makes any other suggestions even harder to contemplate.

As for feeders ZRH might be looked at if Helvetic doesn't come back I suppose, either as point to point or as a feeder if they can get that partner there. A link with SK to CPH? Sounds doubtful to me especially with easyJet taking most of the point to point traffic.

ORY might be a thought with easyJet seemingly deciding not to increase their CDG despite selling out regularly.

I'm not surprised that HAJ didn't cut the mustard, albeit Hannover is one of Bristol's twin cities, but I am surprised about MXP.

BRS-MUC to go 3x on 245

There's a report here that BM are increasing rotations on BRS-MUC to include an early evening departure and return on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Friday. If it's true, that's great news, as it makes trips into Germany genuinely doable in a day.

I was tipped off to look at the BM BRS-MUC route from March onwards, and it looks like it's going to be a double daily with outbounds at 12:05 and 17:10.

The 17:10 is great news, as it means you can get a full day in MUC, as well as being handy for a few l/h connections out of MUC (PVG being one).

I hope BM can sustain the German routes at these frequencies, as well as opp'ing the BRS-BRU for SN, and the commuter hops to ABZ/HAM. It's really positive.

New MUC base?

I've just been browsing the bmi german website, and it seems MUC is about to become a BM base?

New destinations from APR15 include:
* Bern (BRN), 3x daily
* Leige (LGG), 2 x daily
* Rotterdam (RTM), 3 x daily

* Bristol (BRS) moves to 2 x daily

It looks like basing two, maybe three aircraft at MUC, which is a big development? Shuttles from BRN and RTM are quite adventurous, but I guess they've researched the demand.

LH (Cityline) currently serves MUC-RTM twice daily, with CR7/CR9, this stops end of March though.

I'd suspect that bmir will put LH codes onto their intended programme from MUC, then there may be a chance.

MUC - LGG is the only real new route for MUC, which is a surprise indeed.

MUC-BRN has been served over the past two decades by various airlines and for a good couple of years by Lufthansa affiliates feeding the MUC hub. Currently it is served by Skywork twice daily which proably will not last long if BM can offer a LH code-share.

MUC-RTM is taken over from LH Cityline.

Reminds me a little bit of the times when Debonair set up shop at MUC and operated quite a few route for Lufthansa in the late 1990s.

I'm rather hoping that there will be a terminal move from MUC T1 over to the Star Alliance terminal at T2, which will make interline connections much less painful than they are now.

Nothing about a code-share in that source, they rather vaguely say "in conjunction" with Lufthansa and mention a code-share on the existing Karlstad - Frankfurt service. I think it is just a summary of various reports from this and other forums and nothing from the horse's mouth.

"The routes are operated in conjunction with Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt Int'l)."

Plenty of similar reports, particularly in Swiss and German media.

I think we can take the LH code very much for granted.
