Does anyone know if the +$100 a barrel fuel hedging that has been done for summer 2009 applies to all of TUI Travels airlines or just the UK Thomson Airways ?

Livery hasn't been announced yet, just the logo. It is the TUI smile with a coldsore, the normal "Thomson" typeface in red and "Airways" below that on the right, similar to where the "Airways" was in the First Choice logo.

Thomson Airways Long Haul.

Hi, it's my first ever post here.
I'm not sure that it's been answered before, only I am wondering about TOM's long haul routes to be taken from FCA, especially Mexico. For as far as I know, then FCA are only UK based operators for Puerta Vallarta and Cozumel, a place that I spent my Summer holidays, a main reason that I'm interested finding out, for Cancun shall probably continue already being operated by TOM and FCA.
Shall all FCA long haul Mexico destinations, Puerta Vallarta, Cozumel and probably Cancun all still be served next year, please can somebody let me know.

Puerto Vallarta stopped as of the end of the end of October. It was summer only this year, but now its been completely scrubbed. A great shame. Cancun will continue as normal - not sure about Cozumel.

If you go onto the Gatwick Airport website for instance, click "flight information", "flight timetables" and then "charter flight timetable". From there make sure you select Summer 2009 season and you'll get....
  • Aruba
  • Cancun
  • Columbo
  • Cozumel
  • Holguin
  • Liberia (Costa Rica)
  • Male
  • Mombasa
  • Montego Bay
  • Orlando Sanford
  • Porlamar
  • Puerto Plata
  • Puerto Vallarta
  • Punta Cana
  • Salvador
  • Samana
  • Varadero

Can't answer for MAN, BHX, NCL etc. But check their websites for an insight should be able to help.

Thomson Airways will operate SFB and CUN from NCL next summer - PUJ has been dropped, not sure of the reasoning there, as now the Dom Rep is not accessible from NCL at all!

TOM will also operate a series of special cruise related charters to BGI and Santo Domingo from NCL this winter!

Santa Flights

Hi all.....sorry for hi-jacking your thread....Air Traffic here...
I've just booked a Santa special on 6th Dec from Manchester flying with TOM....I've paid the extra £60 for the 6 of us to be seated together....how do they do the seat allocation?? Is it just at check in or am I able to allocate my seats earlier. My daughter is slightly disabled and would appreciate any advice.....cheers

Give them a call on 0871 231 4787.

You'll need your flight number & booking reference available, hopefully they will be able to help or best advise. All seats are allocated 24 hours before and a seat plan is sent to check-in for the flight which they don't have much flexibility for changes etc, so best to contact them now I'd say. Your seats on the Santa flight will be the same inbound as they were outbound (at least they should be).

Enjoy it's a fantastic and magical place to be!

Hope that helps.

I have a feelin g it may be the same as the current thomson logo with very few changes. Posibly the First Choice Logo on the fuselage somewhere?? A total change would be nice!

That is the 2nd time you have asked the same question about the colourscheme in less than a week. The company is dealing with a merger, an excess of crews and possible redundancies, not to mention some very testing economic conditions. Spending money on what colour their aircraft will be are quite far down the list of priorities for the time being, and will probably be merely amended with stickers until at least May 2009.

I'm sorry but discussions about best liveries belong more in the spotter forum.

atcomarkingtime

Sadly it is unlikely as cockpit visits are not allowed to "unauthorised personnel" even on the ground now. We dislike the rules but don't have much say in them. If there is time I'm sure the crew would be happy to chat to you on the day though. These flights are always a close bond between crew and passengers, especially as we wear the same Santa hats! Enjoy your trip.

recently travelled with Thomsonfly. No extra payment for sitting together so check in at spanish airport put us in seats A and C with women in between whose husband was in seat F, flight crew sorted the problem very quickly.Isn't it a sign of the financial times when you have to pay to sit next to your wife rather than a very attractive half dressed stranger.

The Gatwick airport website is out of date, if you pop into a Thomson/First Choice shop and get a new long haul brochure and compare it to the first edition PVR,SSA (HOG from MAN and VRA from LGW) 2nd LGW-MBJ a week(14night rotation-day6) and LIR have been dropped.
