Airline's ebay stores

Airlines selling tickets on ebay.

I have just seen on another aviation forum that Jetblue have started their own ebay shop selling their flights online in live auctions. Personally I think this is a great idea.

My question is - would any airline on this side of the pond launch a similar of identical scheme? I would guess Ryanair would be one of the airlines on the short list, the only problem is that they would have to pay ebay which is not what Ryanair do.

I remember when AB had flights for sale in a major UK food store at £19 on domestic flights which I thought was a good idea but I guess this didn't work to well as they never returned!

Are there any other ways in which airlines can increase their passenger base like JetBlue is trying to do?

Go (now there's an airline I miss) used to participate in online auctions. I never got a seat this way, though, presumably because I bid too low....
