Hi
Can anyone in the know help here please...(armchair speculators can save their fingertips).

We have booked a large party from MAN to one of the Caribbean islands next month. We all wanted to go Premium Economy but we were told it wasn't available ......yet. We are all prepared to pay the extra premium for Premium Economy and effectively we are saying to TC ' We want to give you more money'.
Every time we ask TC about the situation, all we get is 'watch this space' or 'we are waiting for the delivery of another aircraft' and 'keep phoning back'.

Does anyone know if we will get our PE seats or not?
And a general note to TC - parts of the Caribbean are often considered premium destinations so it should not be too much of a surprise that some punters want to fly in PE (at least).

My wife and I just last week booked return PE seats for 3-17 March 2016 for MAN-UVF but we booked a Thomas Cook holiday through our local Co-op Travel shop. I understand that the seats are available even so this is one where I would go through an agent as they do have contacts. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply Domy Dom.
Although we have booked through TC themselves, it seems even they don't have a definitive answer. Given that we are traveling next month, it seems as though they have some doubt that this 'new aircraft' will arrive on time (or maybe fitted out on time). I guess by the time you go in the Spring that should be resolved.
In the meantime we are in limbo.
I find it a little odd that we are a group of people able and willing to give TC more money for a better product and they are still struggling to take our money! Hopefully someone in TC will read this and advise.
Enjoy St Lucia!!

At the end of the day I think TC are playing this right, surely you would be more disappointed should you pay the extra to travel in W then only a at the last minute to be told the plane was a single config and you would end up in Y?

Better to under promise and over deliver than to over promise and under deliver?

All names

can I ask which island in particular you are flying to?

Reason being is that Air Tanker (G-VYGK) are running a lot of the Caribbean flights in November to allow the other A330's a painting up break.

This aircraft does not have the premium cabin so therefore TC are unable to sell a service that doesn't exist on those flights.

Does anyone know what new routes TCX will announce in a few weeks? Sanya in China has been rumoured.

Sanya, ah back to Airtours 767 days. How many flights operated before that program was cancelled?

There were 2 seasons of Manchester-Sanya and 1 short season of East Midlands-Sanya too.

Apparently a deal was recently concluded where a Chinese tour company brought 5% of Thomas Cook, which at the time, was said to help open up a China to Thomas Cook, including the company running flights to China.

Beijing for Beijing-UK tour traffic and Manchester-Sanya were mooted.

Whilst on the subject of TCX long haul ops, does anyone know why they seem to have such an aversion to flying long haul from the Midlands? TOM manage a successful program from BHX and I think they also operate a few flights from EMA, however I think there is still opportunity for TCX, there are no flights from either airport to Cuba, Las Vegas for example. Us Midlander''s like to go exotic too!

Smaller fleet perhaps? Thomson have more B787s than Thomas Cook do A330s.

Does seem strange how TCX have increased operations in MAN and STN, yet out of the MAG Group EMA has seen nothing new.

ncl and gla

Hi Wsm991 and all,

As far as im aware from glasgow reductions in s/h routes
Kos
And the very popular bodrum route i travel on.this regularly
And caa figures suggest over 2,000 seats sold per month even as they are now the sole charter airline on this route now from june with thomson buying seats.
A number of regular customers have been asking and calling for it to be re instated.
A number of whom I have got to know over the years.

Also bodrum from ncl seat wise will be reduced from 220 down to 180
same at man and lgw but bfs ,ema etc keep 220 on the route.

If anyone knows of any further Gla changes feel free to post.
