'40's ex LCY' may have been seen occasionally but as an average it looks to be on the high side. CAA stats for May show 2128 pax, which would be around 50% load factor.
re PLH/NQY, the times I've flown the route there has barely been a spare seat. The morning departure to LCY and the return in the evening seem to be the most used with less using the return morning trip to PLH and the departure at about 1730. This is due to many using it for a day return trip to London. If there are spare seats, some often book but change their booking at the last minute - you can up to 2 hours before departure with Business Plus - handy if you are in a meeting which overuns. From October the arrival into LCY will be 15 minutes earlier in the morning and about 25 minutes earlier in the evening.
Looks like the list of destinations is coming down to 26 for the winter.
Anyone in the know how the average number of daily movements compares to the all-time high two or so years ago? Does it have a positive effect on slot availability?
Rumoured to be the same with LCY-SXB (first "suspended" only for the summer, but eventually not to be resumed). But I have yet to see an official confirmation.
Just for the record, LCY-CDG was axed for good by AF in July
Now VLM have two aircraft in fill Cityjet colours is there about to be a big change in some of the operations at the City??
Fokker 50s operating the shorter sectors and the BAE RJs operating the slightly longer ones??
What is now left for VLM? MAN, LPL, BRU, IOM gone, so it is down to RTM, ANR, a much reduced AMS schedule plus low-frequency flights to LUX, JER, EIN and NTE? Any other routes?
Really a sad story - at one point VLM was the biggest operator at LCY. Always liked their fantastic service and was more than happy to use them to AMS, LPL or MGL.
For an airline like VLM, LCY was the heart of its operation and they were always loyal as for them there were few, if any alternatives. For Air France, it is just another airport they focus on - and they will desert it within a few weeks should they ever run into trouble or see better opportunities elsewhere.
