There is a serious side to this - Does a van full of clothes look right in the Departure Lounge of an international airport?.
Ernest ask Manchester management they have a few retail outlets themselves.
As regard car parking, they have a little camera taking your regestration around Morrisons/McDonalds, it notes your regestration and if you are there too long......

The fines in the post

As regards the roads of Blackpool Dazbo use em every day, not lost a mirror yet

You telling me MM MAN allows folks in a departure lounge to flog clothes out of a van.

RE Morrisons: That was my point, MM.

Nice! - Then we can have a coal wagon come winter. Or maybe in keeping with current BLK trends - Windmills.

Says a lot for what's happening at BLK when the highlight of the last few posts was the dada one liner that silverhawk for some reason thought was hilarious.

It was actually quite funny! Look them up, it'll make sense, all to do with supermarkets you see. Lidl (landing imminent, distance lost) Aldi (alternative landing direction inevitable)

So, the microbus is doing well in the terminal, it's all about 'alternative revenue streams' someone told me today. Don't you just love B.S!

How about putting a tram in the departure area to celebrate Tram Sunday and the end of the tramway in it's present form?

Probably not. SOU doesn't work and EXT is even less appealing. If it was to happen it would probably have to follow on to JER. Also, ASW don't have flights to EXT as far as I know.

Any source?

Isle of Man route

June 09 pax figures issued for Ronaldsway show that the Blackpool route continues to improve - up by 76% on last year

http://www.iom-airport.com/lib/docs/...2009passen.pdf

Obviously there will be some reduction when Loganair flights end this weekend, but a press release from Manx2 this week stated that their May/June paxfigures were up 32% compared to last year. Manx2 have increased weekday flights from 3 to 4 per day to make up for the loss of the Loganair flights.

A 34 extra seats won't make up for the 136 seats on Loganair but I can understand that Manx2 don't have the pulling power like the Flybe website.

I think Loganair have done a good thing for Manx2 and Blackpool - they have either created new traffic or brought in passengers from Manchester and Liverpool who have now realised that Blackpool is easier for them than the other two mentioned.

Good to seat a route that is doing well in the current climate.

Doing a very rough calculation using the available figures, with a base of
100% for 2008 pax on the IOM route:

It is around 176% now, but Manx2 have increased to 132%. The other 44% is the Loganair contribution

On this basis it would appear that Manx2 outsold Loganair by around
3:1 (despite having fewer available seats)

The Manx2 increase from 3 > 4 flights per weekday should roughly cover the loss of the Loganair pax.

May's passenger figures -25.1% on May 2008 and -22.2% for the rolling year.

The deficit is continuing to decrease which is good news.
