blk new routes

Well as posted in a previous post, said i heard on radio interview that there are several new routes for 2007, now i know its only feb, but surely anything that was coming online for summer ,would need to be on sale soon, or do airlines start routes at any time of year? does anyone think there mite be more routes from ryanair, as i see there doing more routes to spain, surley that will hit the like of jet2, doing daily alicante? Monarch couldnt keep a daily flight to malaga up... any thoughts? Plus what happend to jet2 blackpool being the base for the northwest, would have said manchester had more expansion, appreciate blk has lot more choice than this time last year, just seems to have gone quiet,, still a blk airport fan though , would recomend it b4 man lpl,

silverhawk,

Do Jet2 only base 22K engine rated 733s @ BLK? It may be just a coincidence but they always seem to have 22K rated 733s based, for example G-CELD at the minute.

Hopefully we will see more routes before the summer. We have heard about the new F50 operator, but nothing has come of it. EZY would be great for the airport, maybe MXP or GVA? I can see these routes being added by either LS or EZY for next winter, maybe some more city routes would help the airport, CDG and DUS will probably be at the top of the LS list.
Have noticed on the LS website that all the other airports have a lot of new routes for this summer (less so EDI) but BLK only has one new route, with more coming back from last summer.
Hope to see more routes domestically and internationally this year.

Noticed in the new Airliner world that BNWA are still offering charter services. Great for the airline. Also good article on BFS-BLK and Manx2. The editor says that we should watch BFS, BLK and IOM in the next few months. Does this mean anything?

Problem at Blackpool Tonight

The plane chartered to take 104 supporters of Blackpool FC to Norwich for tonights FA Cup replay went tech. at the last minute.

The aircraft was to be replaced by two smaller aircraft but one of them did not turn up, resulting in 36 supporters having to volunteer to go back home.

The 68 travelling fans departed Blackpool at 18.15 and are now on a coach in Norwich in a race against time to get to the game for kick-off.

An Aircraft not turning up? Not very good when a load of dedicated supporters need to go to the other side of the Country.

If the Aircraft went 'Tech' The Airline or the Organiser should have made sure the supporters did not have to go home or 'Bust a gut' racing down to Norwich, Hardly the weather for that.

Regards.

Serious rumour here in BLK , coming from airport themelves is that theirs a J31 operator - not BNWA -looking 2 start BLK BHD direct in competition with Manx2's (via IOM) and Jet2's expanding 2x daily BLK BFS! . Sounds' a good plan 2 me - j31 vs Jet2's 737s 19 seats at £120 single vs 132 seats at £19.99 single every one's a winna

wrong way round

Far from it Squanze me old mate. Don't like seeing small airlynes chuck loadsamoney down the drain in persuit of glory Just pointing out that they wuold be better to keep their ££s in their pockets than be talked into a BHD/BLK route in a j31 in competition with BFS/BLK in a J2 737 . J2 will murder them. They'd be better off looking again at BLK-Inverness or even BLK - Oxford?
Airports can be great at talking small airlynes into starting routes as the airport's have nothing to lose. Look at what happend to Emerald on LPL-iom.

I don't see BLK-Oxford working, but GLA or EDI?

TOM have announced their Winter 07/08 flights from BLK. Check airport website.

BLK-OXF wouldn't have a hope in hell of working! I think the Jetstream Exec management team are anything but risk takers and I can't see them jumping on to routes without researching them first, however I believe they were interested in purchasing BNWA at one stage so who knows what they might do next.
