No i dont think T3 has loads like that throughout its network, as the CWL-NCL seems to be holding up pretty well, figures are ok. But 4 on a Saab 2000 is nothing short of an abysmal load, and if many rotations are like that then we could soon be seeing cutbacks.

BM's product is a lot cheaper than Eastern's and id rather fly on an ERJ than a prop.

Actually average loads on CWL-NCL can also be around 3/4 people on some days. But look at the price of tickets... gives an idea why T3 haven't disappeared.

Wonder if the low loads are down to BM operating there direct service.

Does anyone know how BM are doing on the route
I understand that BM now have the lion's share of passenger numbers between BRS and ABZ.

Overall pax numbers for BRS-ABZ were up 5% in November and up 14% in December compared with those months in 2011 - CAA stats.

BRS-LBA has seen its passenger numbers decreasing rapidly in recent months with around 50% fewer in both November and December.

I suspect that the train is responsible for much of the fall although the distance between Bristol and Leeds is such that there are arguments in favour of both rail and air.

The Manchester connection (Air Southwest) was lost a few years ago when train services improved and I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see the BRS-LBA route go the same way.

"I am told the ABZ - LDS yesterday afternoon had 15. 12 got off at LDS..." That's quite an optimistic route for Eastern!! Was it in a J41, Saab or EMB? How many 'tech stops' on the way??? Even with the proposed EASA Flight Duty Period 'limitations' I'm sure they'd struggle to keep the crew in duty hours!

(LDS = Yichun, Heilongjiang)

LDS is of course meant as Leeds Bradford (LBA).

The aircraft which is a 50 seater Saab 2000 operates BRS-LBA-ABZ
Eastern Airways operates similar length journey times with 1 stop over their network for many years.

For all those who are questioning how many passengers are on the aircraft and trying to work out if it's in profit or not may wish to consider the cost of the ticket.

Easter Airways
Don't they operate specially configured aircraft just at this time of year for transporting chocolate eggs and bunnies? Their season will be over this year at the end of March.

The smugness of some people in this forum is enough to drive everyone insane. The name is in the name of the of the forum, 'Professional'. And with stupid comments criticising basic typos like people saying LDS when its obviously LBA, and Easter Airways when its obviously Eastern are to be quite honest...Childish.
Grow up and get back to route planning.

Just recently flown the BRS-ABZ via LBA cost £403.90 return. SAAB 2000 nice piece of kit with a reasonable in flight service. Load factor BRS-LBA 10. (4 got off) LBA-ABZ 12. ABZ-LBA 6. ( 3 got off) LBA-BRS 14
At an average price of £200 for the BRS- ABZ route 1 way guess the load factors can be low and make a profit?

All this talk of a 737 is nonsense. Eastern are chartering a Jet2 737-300 for a few days later on in February to operate some charters. That's it.

@Rob,

No money was made on that flight for sure...

BRS LBA ABZ --> 0:45 and 0:55 --> 1:40

11 people GBP200 --> 2.200

Multiflight B733 on Eastern AOC

Correct it was a VIP configured B737-300 previously operated by the VIP operator Gainjet.
Owned by Multiflight and now going onto Easterns AOC (as Multiflight are not an AOC holder themselves).

I should imagine Gainjet are not best pleased in losing both B733's in a matter of months as I understand the other one which has 60 seats is coming on the UK reg as well ?

Gainjet

Correct, both SX-MTF and SX-VIP the Gainjet managed B737-300s are leaving their fleet and have been replaced by two (2) ex KLM B737-400s configured 48C and 68C respectively and fitted with additional Fuel Tanks for extended range.
