Have just posted something similar on DUBLIN thread. Do any of you RE bods know how this affects the PSO. Is there not a certain amount that goes to starting a route up. Will BA/Logie give that to RE. Was the PSO publicly offered again? Why RE. Is is just once a day as before?
I understand Irish regional carrier Aer Arann may be announcing tomorrow a large fleet order, rumour is its ATR72-500's, has anyone any info on this or where the expansion will take the company

Would they not need to hang on to some of the 42s because of runway restrictions? I'm thinking particularly of Sligo, but to a lesser extent of Galway and Waterford.
Jeesus isn't it great to see that paper never refuses ink all the same! and that that dreadful, dreary, "doyen" of the School of modern BS Paddy O'C is still full it and still pumping out the hot air!! Let us all say in common prayer and as one for our beloved leader " Oh Dear God don't let the "AU" turn around and decide to take another look at the "PSO Sponge" presently alive and well and living in Dub & places West and rejoicing in the name POC and may our beloved leader continue to seek solace from the crumbs thrown from "Mental Mickey's" table of greed Amen!!
PS I see The Beloved One has been rambling about AA going "unlimited" - how does that work then??? ho, ho when the BS was being given out Our Beloved Leader hopped in right up to his bleedin oxters!!

I doubt there would be any restriction out of waterford at all as i believe there is none at present using the current 72's
I would have thought that with the length of runway at Sligo that an ATR72 would be range restricted. Since they only fly to Dublin from Sligo, it possibly wouldn't be a problem, but it would be a problem if they had any intention of increasing services from Sligo.
There are restrictions for the 72 in WAT when taking off from 03 and sometimes for 21 as well. A fully booked 72 to LTN and especially LRT can cause quite some problems weight wise when 03 is in use .
As for SXL both the 42 and 72 are restricted for takeoff but it's no problem for the 72 as it is rarely full when flying to DUB plus you don't need much fuel to fly back to DUB.
