As well as the afore mentioned routes, CDG is supposed to be in the pipeline but there are problems with getting slots, maybe an alternative Parisian airport on the cards???
Palma also announced.
Interesting times ahead this summer for both Galway and Waterford.
That's great news for both the airports and for Arann.
I assume that this is a wet lease with Nex Aviation and that its a tester for the future given the recent press release in relation to their decision about the possible purchase of regional jets.

The 146s are to be wet leased.
As per the Aer Arann press release, it is "just" a franchise operation with Aer Arann simply marketing the flights under their brand. As such, all risks should be with Nex Air. No wet lease.
The whole operation amounts to just 10 flights/week. How keeps Nex Air the aircraft busy - on some days it is just one rotation under the RE brand.
They do have additional routes to announce but are awaiting confirmation of slots. They will also operate some summer charter flights from Galway & Waterford for Slattery Travel.
4 per day bookable on ORK-DUB . Yesterday in the Irish Examiner they said that they signed off on a deal to feed Cork pax into EI long haul ex Dublin but most of the times in their summer schedule are useless as long haul connectors. They also spoke of investing on upgrading the route.
They are obviously under massive pressure from Ryanair on Cork Dublin as they are constantly chopping and changing flights.
They notion that they have the support of the Cork business community in their David and Goliath battle is a myth.

Ya I think that they've changed their schedule 3 times since October. Since last week we've lost the late night 22.45 flight from Dublin, the last flight now being the 20.55 Ryanair. I hope they stay on the route though. Ryanair's schedule isn't great. Their morning flight is too late to be in Dublin City Center for 9, and their last flight is that bit too early. Also if RE were gone, Ryanair could do a Gatwick on it and cut capacity as soon as the competition were dispensed with.
Aer Arann have announced a frequent flyer programme. The main benefits seem to be lounge access, no change fees on flights and increased baggage allowance. It's supposed to be invitation only with no tiers and no points. That's supposed to be uncomplicated, but I would find the lack of transparency confusing.
Can anyone tell me please why Aer Arann are constantly having delayes of and average 1 hour or more in the last two weeks or so? I know it's happening frequently at CWL, is it the same at other stations?
I am guessing that before last week it was due to the wet leased White Eagle Aviation a/c, but now the contract has ended what seems to be the problem?
It is a great inconvenience as Ops sends the passengers a text message to inform them the a/c will be delayed and check-in will be extended, however as the a/c has completed approx 8 sectors previously the a/c has made up the delay and operating on time, however check-in has to remain open as pax have been informed of a delay and check-in will be held open later. A/C leaves airport with the same delay as it had in the morning.
I belive the problem of the last week has been that because the contract was 'ended' by RE they have had to try and reaccom the flights that were contracted to White eagle back into their schedule.
Also the text message thing seems to be a good idea generally in letting passengers know, although like anything it seems to have its problems.
The txt message thing is a good idea if you were a larger carrier with larger a/c which is unlikely to make up some time. I was looking at the system last night and it's allready showing the RE312 as delayed.
With Aer Arann a 15 mins turnaround is not out of the question and is very achievable so if the first flight of the day it is always likely to make up time and only be 10 mins or so behind sheduled (slot restrictions permitting)etc.
A suggestion maybe that they send a txt informing them that their a/c is delayed however it maybe running close to on-schedule by the time of their evening flight. In that case we advise them to check-in on schedule. If the passengers got told that their a/c was only 5 mins late comming in but will be an hour late departing due to the txt message that everyone has received stating their a/c is delayed. (I could put my money on them that they would have rathered not having the txt).
In the summer check-in desks will be pretty scarse and i'm not sure if they will be able to do it at CWL at certain times.
Does anybody know when this a/c problem will be sorted out? Did the RE a/c get sold or did they return to their lessor? I would have thought RE would have had a/c in line for these rather than start new ones. It is a shame rhat RE's excellent on time record is being lost due to this.
A one-directional IOM-Dublin with no return service (operating Jersey -IOM - Dublin - Jersey only) will really have the guys in Dublin quaking! I would expect BI will leave the IOM - Dublin market alone and concentrate on selling JSYIOM, JSY-DUB and vv rather than trying too hard on IOM-Dublin.
Blue Island seats are only available IOM-DUB & not in the return direction, I cannot see them picking up much (if any) traffic on this sector. A poor piece of scheduling by their route planning department I feel.
