Yet another DRC crash

BBC News - DR Congo: President Kabila's aide dies in plane crash

This time a prominent politician is killed - maybe that might stir up some action.

Anybody know what type we are talking about? In the news they say "Private Jet"?

According to Reuters the flight from Goma to Bukavu landed very deep and overran. No real detail.

Gulfstream GIV, possibly N2SA of Stanford Aviation LLC.

Are we sure that that photo pertains to the DRC crash... The rescue party looks altogether too well organized and I don't see any Congolese there ...

they are Urugayans, they manage the airport. More pics here:

This is because the UN is located in Bukavu and they are more organized. A few Congolese in brilliant helmets.

It looks like it was the first landing for this GIV American crew at Bukavu, the approach requires a steep descent, they touched down 1/2 way down the runway, conditions were reported good... Also, they just departed Goma a mere 45 miles away...Down there you pretty much have to design your own landing procedure
