Kabo Air RIP

I see in the local paper here that all of Kabo Airs 747s are being auctioned off by the sheriff on court order of a debt.
Seems like their one 747-400 and three 747-200s are soon to find new homes....or the sharp end of crusher!!

My money is on the crusher. They've sat at various airports for years. Last got used for the Haj about 18 years ago, then nothing.

Not the case, the -400 flew odt recently on a wet lease with Ariana Afghan Airlines from 2013 until Oct 2016, about the time Kabo's debts started catching up with them. No loss really, as word had it, they were shader than a cave at midnight.
Riddance and rubbish come to mind. ....

Kabo Air: They've operated Hajj 2017 and are likely to do so 2018 with their 1993 B747-400.

Further news about Kabo?

Wrt Operating Hajj (i.e. into Saudi Arabia) then they must have a lot of 'wasta', i.e. in order to operate their tired old aircraft into there, 'coz GACA (General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia) do love to do SAFA inspections.

Saudi Arabia are reported to be considering banning Nigerians from Hajj this year anyway if the outbreak of Lassa fever in the country persists

Chief they won't need it as there AOC has been suspended ever since plus an astronomical debt at GACA = No more Hajj (at least for the time being)
