Gabosa Engineering

I am just trying to find out as much info on this company as I can. Has anyone got any previous experience working for this company based in Africa? Any info on aircraft type/numbers etc.

Google is a bit sparse.

Any help would be appreciated.

Perhaps you might want to look at the ‘scam alert’ section of their website (Gabosa Engineering Limited) it seems that certain individuals are offering out jobs with the requirement of money to be paid. If you look at the company profile and the career section of the website you will see that they do not recruit/ are not recruiting pilots at the moment.

I would be extremely sceptical of the job offers that you have.

It's a scam

Yeah it certainly looks like its a scam, I got a dodgy phone-call this morning off one of the guys, funnily enough I happen to automatically record all my phonecalls from unknown numbers... and on reflection I wouldn't send him anything whether its real or not!!!

Also the numbers they provide do not match the company's listed on the website

Recruitment Scams
We have also recently been informed that certain emails received by members of the public have promised jobseekers positions in the Gabosa Engineering Limited without these individuals applying for the job. These emails promise that upon payment of a huge amount of money the recipients are assured jobs within the Gabosa Engineering Limited.
We dissociate ourselves entirely from any of the emails described above. We believe they are part of an attempt to perpetrate Advance Fee Fraud (popularly known as “419″) on unsuspecting members of the public. Neither Gabosa Engineering Limited nor any of its subsidiaries have at any time required or requested the use of bank accounts of individuals or members of the public for the purpose of lodging money owed to Gabosa Engineering Limited or any of its subsidiaries by customers. Advertisements for positions within the Gabosa Engineering Limited are usually made in the national dailies and reputable websites.
In the event that you receive any of the emails described above, we advise that you do the following:

But I think I'll take the risk. Anyway its just 350 not a thousand gran and I saw their ads in one of the reputable website for aviation jobs and I do apply on this particular job, they contacted me and they answered using the contact account of gabosa engineering not just an ordinary contact account from yahoo and google. The only thing I doubt is that they don't have profile background for their aviation business. I tried to ask why and the answer is that they are establishing a new aviation department for the company.

Any added information will help and appreciated.

Thank you guys!

Exclamation Gabosa

I think even the website is a setup. And if you contact them as suggested to check a scam they will say they have checked with the recruitment and it is genuine offer and you should pay the advance.
Someone has gone to a lot of trouble but fortunately they cannot handle the technical questions.

Gabosa is a Fraud

According to Aviation Job Searchers and other sites, Gabosa Engineering has been involved in fraudulent activity. Be Alert as they might use alternative name as Diamond Petrochemicals etc.

Thumbs down

One of the online aviation jobs confirm that this is fraud. They already removed this ads and alerted all registered members. I'm so disappointed with this people.

Sure looks like a scam

What aviation board was it? I look at all of them and remember seeing it and replied as well on Nov 2 and got a call today from Wilfred and then recieved the same contract and was told to get a hold of the Dr. and the Dr. said send him 350 bucks for processing all the paper work etc.

I reseached the net all day and found verry little on the company besides their two sites.

I also responded to the support email line andngot the same "word for word" responce as others did. The job was real and congrads bla bla bla.

One online Job site said it was for a South Africa job, not Nigeria.

I am afraid as well it was too good a thing to be true. No careers are for flying on the site as someone else already posted is bad as well.

Not going to send the Dr. a dime. LOL

Just got this from Wilfred

Dear Frederik,

The rule here in Nigeria for pilot age is for 70 years so you still have 5 years to fly and there is no problem with your license for we shall handle it. All you need is to get the work and residence permit document ready so that we can proceed with other things from our side.

I just turned 65 and this is what the Civil Aviation Athority says.

LIMITATION OF PRIVILEGES OF PILOTS WHO HAVE ATTAINED THEIR 60TH BIRTHDAY AND CURTAILMENT OF PRIVILEGES OF PILOTS WHO HAVE ATTAINED THEIR 65TH BIRTHDAY
  1. No person may serve nor may any AOC holder use a person as a required PIC in single pilot operations on aircraft engaged in commercial air transport operations if that person has reached his or her 60th birthday.
  2. For aircraft engaged in commercial air transport operations requiring more than one pilot as flight crewmembers, the AOC holder may use one pilot up to age 65 provided that the other pilot is less than age 60.
  3. Check airmen who have reached their 65th birthday or who do not hold an appropriate medical certificate may continue their check airman functions, but may not serve as or occupy the position of a required pilot flight crewmember on an aeroplane engaged in international commercial air transport operations unless the other pilot is less than age 60.

So this seems like another red light regarding this dream job scam!!

Gabosa Engineering

This is definitely a scam, their website is also fake! Received 2 calls on my cell from Nigeria on Saturday morning. I called the number back a few hours ago. Mr. Wilfred Igho acted very sketchy, I read over the email several times and noticed the paragraph stating that they wanted me "to set up an offshore account". Supposedly they would deposit 75% of my salary into that and pay 25% locally. They also wanted me to get in touch with Sky Travel and Tours and pay them for my visas etc.

I sent an email to [email protected] to verify the job offer. I received a response in broken english verifying that the job was valid. They referred me back to Sky travel and Tours to begin my visa process.

When I finally realized it was a scam, I called "Mr. Igho" back to mess with him. I informed him that I was not current on the aircraft and would need to get recurrent before I came over for "the job". mr. igho said "oh training, no problem...we will train you..." I asked him where he would be sending me to recurrent...he started mumbling...south africa or australia and so on. Then I told him that I was impressed that he was going to send me to australia from the U.S. for training. esp. since there is no training facility for my type of aircraft there. I could hardly hear him for the sound of his kids screaming in the background. I didn't know that HR managers usually brought their kids to the office on a monday morning.

Mr. Igho finally got frustrated at all my questions and hung up on me. I guess he was mad because he's not getting any money from me.

Gabosa Engineering

While I was reasearching this so called company, I had sent an email to the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria. I got a response back from them today confirming that Gabosa is not a legitimate company.

Computer Problems

When I visited there web site to look if job was offered my computer started running real slow, I had to "Restore" to an early point in time before computer went back to normal.

Also after talking to Wilfred i kept getting calls for Portland that were auto robot calls 2-5 times a day, I had to get our phone company to Block all calls from that number.

Anyone else having similar problems?

The Listed above info fixed all the problems, Happy Holiday Season to All.

It seems that this lot are running the same scam:

Dyno Aviation

Same tel number (+23446872813) as Gabosa, their web site even contains the same scam alert as Gabosa.

I had an email from a George Allan who signs himself as HR Manager for Dyno Aviation with an application form attached. Personally I won’t be going any further with it.

Anyone know anything else about this lot?

Take care folks.

It would seem that the phone number is extremely busy:

:::CONTACT US:::

Even a photo of the same telephone receptionist, identical website layout etc. A google search on the phone number brings up all sorts of scam/ scum info.
