First Officer/ Low Time Pilots For Africans only

Do you guys think there are enough African pilots to fill the right seat of charter companies and other low cost airlines if that position was reserved for Africans only. The European Union and other developed nations have only their own nationals flying in the right seat. Its impossible to get a job in Europe , US ,Canada if you are not a citizen. Shouldn't Companies in Africa be hiring Africans first? Just thinking aloud....

In African countries it is not so easy to get a work permit as a pilot any more. The operators have to prove that there is a lack of suitably qualified locals to fill a position before a work permit will be issued, so in answer to your question...it is already happening!
