Staying on subject then, how about posting hours and experience on this thread and then maybe someone can tell you if they have any use for you and in what context or capacity?

Alright, fair enough I was trying to avoid posting hours because I know what the reactions will be (you ignorant ůµ$^$;: etc), but here goes

Small stuff, SEP MEP SET. Low hours. Currently have 600 of which most are bush flying. I know it's low for Kenya and chances are very slim. I know I know, it's impossible to get a job with my experience. I'm just wondering which places to visit in ignorant bliss . Mainly around Wilson airport. The trip will mainly be informative.

I am sure you are as good as the next 600 hour pilot , but if you read some of the many Kenya forums on pp you will realise that it is work permits that are as rare as rocking horse poo , not jobs . Good luck anyway .

Sounds like things are tricky in Bots as well. Perhaps Tanzania would be more worth your while. Have you given ASF a go? Ran into a couple of Belgian guys operating a OO reg C207 in Bunia, DRC in support of MSF. There may be a gap there but no idea what they pay as they seem to be more of a volunteer organisation from what I gathered.

As the husband of a Kenya native, how long do I have to be in the country before I can get a permit?

There are jobs for sure, but theres a big glut of pilots at the moment, specially with the likes of Qantas downsizing somewhat.

Ix~ Go to botswana. With your time on type and total hours you shouldn't have a problem getting a job.

Job for Pilots

A good initiative and effort. Jobs for pilots are difficult world over due economic slow down/recession and individual country's corruption and high headed Aviation Authorities.
We need to be informed and have a helpfull attitude amongst ourselves.

If you only hold and Indian passport, then unfortunately you will have difficulty getting visa entry into most African countries for longer than a couple weeks (a month is the longest I have heard of). And if you are low hours you will need to be in the country for significantly longer than one month to be able to get a job.
This is NOT a result of the individual African governments, but the Indian governments decisions about how it treats Africans.
Your best option, actually, is Indian companies.

Bush pilot

Hi guys
Do you think there is a chance to be hired by a company in Botswana or Namibia ?
I have 325 hrs of flight and I'd like to make an experience in Africa!

I am willing to go there to present my application personally if there is a concrete opportunity!

Thanks
