SAA and SAX to merge

Just seen this on www.fin24.com
DPE will consider merging SAX and SAA once SAA's balance sheet looks a little better.
Interesting times we live in !

We went through this process about 5 or 6 years ago and nothing came of it then. There was talk of SAA buying Airlink at the time as well.

With SAX well on it's way to making it's own corporate identity I find that hard to believe. It will take SAA a couple of years to get their balance sheet right unless they need the money that SAX is making which goes straight to DPE anyway.

Imagine the poor buggers who left SAX as Dash Captains only to get command again 13 years later - ON A DASH!!!!!!

After 2010 the two airlines will merge under different employment conditions - SAX's conditions for the SAA sky gods.

You'll then see a move towards privatisation AGAIN! Be prepared for many shakeups similar to Olympic Airways.
