Charter Work in South Africa?

Hey everyone,

I am currently doing a JAA ATPL in the UK, would like to come and fly in South Africa when I am qualified. Tried finding out what I would have to do to convert my frozen JAA ATPL to a CAA licence and been told 101 different answers. Does anyone here know?

Also any advice on where to try apply for some charter work (with a brand new licence and zero experience!). I know its a long shot..but we all have to start somewhere!

Thanks

Foreigner? Working in SA?

Hi

If you are not a South African citizen - it will be a bit of a tough time to get a work permit in SA?

Contrary to the conditions in the rest of the world - there are still too many pilots in SA.

The current situation with the SA CAA will also probably have issues with your non-SA CAA license.

Try sending the CAA a mail and check the applicable issues re your license the address is mail@caa.co.za

thanks for the advice guys!

I actually have a good friend working in the Ops department for Executive Turbine in Lanseria, so hopefully he would be able to put in a good word for me!
