Still, if you can't get your licence like good ol' Trevor (i.e. with political influence, cash, a Parker pen and mates that run an aviation company at Rand and Lanseria that want to buy your influence), then you can always become an SAA coffee moffie!

Strange that, his CV doesn't include his career as an assassin with MK (and I don't mean Mike Kruger's airline, either!). Favoured method of attack was under body car bomb (he apparently received his training from the IRA and retains very close and cordial relations with some of the big 'players' in Northern Ireland.
As the SA Ambassador to to the USA nearly discovered in 1985... could that explain his hasty departure from the States??

At least the file hasn't disappeared (yet).
Abrahams case postponed
The case against Trevor Abrahams, the suspended Civil Aviation Authority chief executive officer, has been postponed in the Pretoria specialised commercial crime court today. Abrahams appeared in connection with his alleged involvement in the buying and selling of pilot licence examination papers.
After his arrest two months ago Abrahams attempted to have his bail conditions altered, but later withdrew his application. Abrahams earlier this month told the court that his bail conditions are infringing on personal rights which have no dealings with the case.
An independent review panel earlier found that Abrahams possessed a private pilot licence of which the instrument rating had been issued incorrectly.
The panel was set up earlier in the year to probe alleged irregularities regarding pilot's licences. The body had concluded that the CAA board should reprimand Abrahams or take steps it deemed appropriate against him.
It found that his commercial pilot's licence, issued by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) in the United States, had incorrectly indicated that he had a twin-engine rating, while in fact he had a single-engine rating.
The FAA corrected this error on July 11. His South African private pilot's licence included an instrument rating which was issued without following the correct procedure. He had undergone the flight test, but not the theoretical examination required.
The case was postponed until December 14, when a trial date will be set. - Sapa
