Trust you appreciate the difference between local, municipal and national governments trying to regulate the behaviour of tourists, and a 'revolt' - supposedly carried out by 'Europeans'.

It's true that many places have had to introduce rules to stop drunk Brits (amongst others) from parading their tat's in the buff up and down city streets, and that Rome has had to put a stop to stupid tourists swimming in fountains. But that's still a hell of a long way from that to a 'revolt'.
