I think someone is pulling your leg my friend. Not sure anyone over there really wants you to convert to Islam in a city where most of the local men drink alcohol and visit prostitutes.
Have you actually been to Dubai? The level of Sharia compliance is inversely proportional to the money in your wallet, and you can buy many things over there that you wouldn't get near to in the developed world. It's very un-Islamic. That's not a criticism just an observation, one which could be aimed at all faiths and denominations... just like the high-ranking IS hate-preacher Al-Baghdadi who tried to inspire muslims living in poverty to rise up against the west, whilst at the same time sporting a nice Rolex on his wrist:
