This sounds ridiculous written down but:
QDM - M Makes you go home/Mothers you...ie towards the station (and M for magnetic too)
QDR - R Rejects you...pushes you away..ie away from the station.
Not the slickest answer you'll see on here but I had to work it out myself..and I aint that slick.
