The other thing that I neglected to mention GA driver is that in the past, QF has still taken on pilots even with the rest of the company subject to employment bans and other restrictions similar to the ones that you quote out of the paper.

DHD is right about QF. Command is about eight years (for AO) and about 10-12ish for 'mainline'. It depends on what you want out of aviation. QF 767 F/Os that don't 'rotate' will earn more than a DJ captain. QF 737 F/Os will probably be in the same place. Even with the figures quoted previously on PPRUNE in three years time I think that will still be the case if we do that comparison again in a few years. However, if you have the desire to be in the left seat ASAP then DJ may be the place to stay. The flip side to that is whilst QF have a long list of guys, you can at least have some assurances that if your number comes up, you can go for promotion (but I'm a believer in seniority and the opportunities it presents).
