It's an interesting idea, but in my opinion Emirates would have to look to grow to more UK airports before there is any 'danger' of that being achieved.
Don't forget that BA, Virgin, Brunei, and now Qantas are included in those numbers. Emirates capacity increases plus Qantas will probably take it over 5 million for 2013. Also, as the relentless Middle East monsters continue to gobble long haul traffic from the UK and Ireland they will take transit traffic from those Amsterdam and Dublin numbers.
