the Conduit engine usually shows up in add/remove programs. Over the last year or so they've become much less covert and have been trying to become more "acceptable". Its still a piece of crapware though, that you would have downloaded with another program, probably a "free" one.
Removal is multipronged
Uninstall it in the usual way from add/remove programs
Disable / remove any plugins for it in your browsers
Reset default search engines back to Google or Bing (or whatever)
Then scan through the machine using Spybot S&D or Malwarebytes
Assuming you've no other nasties on there, then that should be enough
