Maybe instructors are missing a trick with the sim experts. Somebody with 500hrs on FSX who has been flying all over the place will know how to fly from Goodwood to Manston, whereas the standard clean-sheet punter won't even know how to spell these places. When I started my PPL I didn't know the elevator halves go up and down together (I thought there were ailerons on the elevator as well
). So why not capitalise on what these punters already come with and concentrate on the remaining stuff.
